ORCID: new recommendations for improving your profile
Do you have an ORCID or are you thinking of creating one? This unique profile allows you to link your publications, projects and research activities to your identity, while avoiding the confusion caused by people with the same (or similar) name.
The ORCID France consortium has just published recommendations on how to correctly fill in the 'Employment' section, in particular by indicating your employer in a consistent manner.
The goal: to harmonise practices in order to ensure the reliability of information, strengthen interoperability with other platforms and guarantee greater visibility of affiliations, both for individuals and their institutions.
Correctly filling in the name of your institution and research organisation, specifying dates, using the official names and, where possible, linking your affiliation to a unique ROR identifier: these are all good practices that enhance the visibility of your research activity and also save time in your administrative and scientific procedures, as your information can be automatically retrieved by other platforms (HAL, publishers, funders, etc.)
