Recherche Science ouverte

An essential resource for understanding ten key topics of open science.

Developped by the French Committee for Open Science, the Small Encyclopedia of Open Science constains ten concise, clear, and rich articles that cover subjects such as open science infrastructure, open scientific data, languages of science, diamond open access, research transparency , and scientific integrity. It also covers essential aspects such as bibliometrics, the economics of open science, open science monitors, and uses of open science.

Each article is the result of a rigorous review based on multiple sources - scientific publications, reports, bibliographical resources, data - and is available in French and English.

Conceived from the outset as a common good, this encyclopedia is distributed under a free license, allowing it to be freely consulted, distributed and reused.

To maximize its accessibility, it is published in two complementary formats:

  • A stable version on a dedicated website: encyclo.ouvrirlascience.fr

  • An evolving version on Wikipedia, which benefits from the collective contributions of the community and evolves continuously: it can be found in Wikipedia's open science category.

By combining scientific rigor, openness and pedagogy, the Small Encyclopedia of Open Science is a key tool for anyone wishing to better understand, teach or promote open science.
