Pépite has reached 13,000 deposited theses!
The University of Lille has reached an important milestone in its commitment to open science: over 13,000 doctoral theses have been deposited on Pépite, the institutional platform for depositing, preserving and disseminating academic work.
The deposit of the thesis: a key step in the doctorate
A useful reminder: the legal deposit of a thesis is a required step in the process of earning a PhD in France. It takes place after the thesis has been defended, and is a prerequisite for the awarding of the diploma. This deposit ensures that the doctoral student's work is preserved in perpetuity and, unless he or she opts out, the thesis is made available in open access, in accordance with the principles of open science.
