This training session is part of the Open Science track coordinated by the University of Lille's libraries (Service commun de documentation) and designed in collaboration with the UPHF's libraries (Service commun de documentation).

Programme:
Presentation of methods and tools for retrieving and monitoring scientific information and for developing a personal documentary research strategy.
This training course is aimed at first- and second-year PhD students who have done little documentary research, PhD students returning to their studies, and anyone wishing to start their bibliographic research on a solid foundation. This session is dedicated to PhD students from the EG BSL, ENGSYS, MADIS, SMRE and PHF (corresponding disciplines).
Objectives:
- Acquire or reinforce skills related to searching for scientific information
- Know how to use a library catalogue efficiently
- Be able to do a literature review (overview of specialised resources, formulate relevant search queries, methods for gaining efficiency)
- Customise searches and quickly target relevant documents (advanced search functions)
- Use documentary networks to obtain documents: identify and use trustworthy open-access resources, access resources using institutional subscriptions
- Develop efficient information and literature monitoring based on resources in your discipline
- Discover the principles of information monitoring
- Design and organise your monitoring system (alert systems, feed aggregators…)
